Spanish football’s reigning champions are currently Barcelona. The team led by Pep Guardiola reached the pinnacle of success over the past year as they swept to every imaginable trophy in the world. Domestic, regional and international titles were collected in six major tournaments and it was no surprise they were referred to as the best team in the world. The squad has hardly changed since the last year with the only major adition in the form of Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Success has not come so readily this season. The domestic title in the La Liga and the Champions League are the only two trophies left that Barcelona can win this season. Yet ask any other club and they would readily swap for the position that the Catalan giants currently find themselves in. To first prove that they are the best in Spain, the Blaugrana would need to retain the league title. It would be an incredible achievement for them to do so in the stadium of their greatest rivals by beating Real Madrid in the El Clasico.
